Detroit City Football Club has announced its participation in the Major Arena Soccer League Women’s (MASL W) for the upcoming season. This marks the second year of arena soccer at Detroit City Fieldhouse, following last year's participation in the Premier Arena Soccer League.

The club will compete in the Great Lakes North Division alongside Kalamazoo FC, West Shore Ambition, and Indiana United. The team will begin its season with an away match against Kalamazoo on December 21 and will host its first home game on January 4. Details regarding schedules and ticketing are expected to be released soon.

“Detroit City’s quality speaks for itself. They are a top-notch organization, both on the men’s and women’s side," stated MASL W Commissioner Chris Economides. "They will represent the sport and league with professionalism, pride, and enthusiasm.”

In their previous season, Detroit City FC reached the PASL national semifinals but were defeated by Snohomish Sky of Washington after a strong regular-season performance. The team recorded eight wins out of ten matches, scoring 80 goals while conceding 30.

Shannon McCarthy, who played a key role last season, recently represented the United States at the MiniFootball World Cup. Dani Evans is set to return as head coach for this season's arena soccer campaign.

“In our inaugural year of arena soccer, we learned so much about the game,” Evans said. “This year in the MASL, we aim to apply those lessons."

Evans emphasized that her team is eager to resume play after a brief break between seasons: “The energy from our fans is exhilarating, and we’re committed to giving our all to those who support us."
