State Senator Jonathan Lindsey has expressed approval of the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision that supports a Tennessee law aimed at protecting youth from certain medical procedures. The law, originally passed by the Tennessee Legislature in 2023, seeks to shield children from what are described as abusive gender-related medical practices, including conversion surgeries and hormone treatments.

The legislation faced legal challenges and was eventually brought before the U.S. Supreme Court. In a case titled United States v. Skrmetti, the court upheld Tennessee's ban on these specific medical interventions for minors.

Senator Lindsey, representing Coldwater, Michigan, commented on the ruling: "This landmark decision makes it clear that states have the authority to step in and protect our kids in this critical area," he stated. He further emphasized his stance against transgender surgeries and chemical sterilization by stating they are not affirming.

Lindsey praised the court's action as bold and appropriate, suggesting that Michigan should consider similar legislative measures to protect children from what he terms "left-wing gender insanity." He expressed his commitment to advocating for children's protection against gender ideology.
