Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, who represents Michigan’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to address issues ranging from price fixing and health care to domestic violence.

On October 8, 2025, Tlaib posted about efforts to address price fixing in California and called for federal action. She wrote, "Great to see CA cracking down on price fixing. From software allowing companies to set common prices to using people's personal info to set individualized prices, the federal government must ban these practices. Let's start with my Stop Price Gouging in Grocery Stores Act."

Later that day, on October 8, 2025, Tlaib criticized Republican-led health care initiatives. She stated, "Not only did Republicans vote for the largest cuts to Medicaid in history to kick 17 million Americans off their health care, they’ve introduced legislation to repeal the ACA entirely. We cannot let them continue to destroy health care in our country. We are fighting for you."

On October 10, 2025, Tlaib highlighted the issue of domestic violence during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. She posted, "Domestic violence is a deeply painful reality for far too many people in our country, especially women. This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I am committed to making sure survivors have safe and stable housing, childcare, legal and financial assistance, and mental and physical"

Tlaib has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after replacing Brenda Jones. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2009 to 2014. Born in Detroit in 1976 and currently residing there, Tlaib holds a BA from Wayne State University and a JD from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
