In today's business environment, economic equity is increasingly seen as a crucial factor for competitive advantage. Companies that focus on equity and inclusion are often better equipped to foster growth, innovation, and long-term success.
The Detroit Regional Chamber has initiated the "A Business Case for Equity" series to emphasize this point. This series includes regional business leaders who discuss workplace equity and share successful strategies from their organizations. The goal is to inspire meaningful discussions and provide practical insights for businesses of various sizes.
Kathleen “Lisa” Cawley, Managing Director of Health and Public Services at Accenture, is featured in the latest installment of the series. During her interview, Cawley emphasized Accenture's dedication to economic equity and inclusion. She explained that this commitment stems from both business needs and a sense of duty towards the communities where Accenture operates.
Cawley also highlighted Accenture’s apprenticeship program as a key initiative in promoting diversity. According to her, the program has been effective in creating opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds. It boasts a 98% job offer rate with 90% retention after two years, positively impacting not only the apprentices but also their families and communities.
