The Detroit Red Wings have announced the signing of forward Eduards Tralmaks to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2025-26 season.
Tralmaks, who is 28 years old, played the previous season with Rytíři Kladno in the Czech Extraliga. During his time there, he led his team with 23 goals and 28 assists, totaling 51 points. He also had a plus-four rating and accumulated 66 penalty minutes over 48 games. His performance included two power play goals and two game-winning goals. Notably, his total points were the highest in Czechia’s top professional league.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 209 pounds, Tralmaks spent the entire 2023-24 season with Rytíři Kladno as well, achieving 32 points in regular-season games and contributing five points in postseason contests. From 2020 to 2023, he played parts of three seasons with the American Hockey League’s Providence Bruins, amassing 41 points over 87 games.
Before embarking on his professional career, Tralmaks played four seasons at the University of Maine from 2017 to 2021. There he compiled a total of 82 points across 119 games. In addition to his college career, he recorded significant achievements in junior hockey with the United States Hockey League’s Chicago Steel during the 2016-17 season. He was named MVP of the Clark Cup Playoffs after leading his team to their first championship.
Internationally, Tralmaks has represented Latvia in various competitions. He helped secure a spot for Latvia in the upcoming Winter Olympics by scoring one goal during the final qualifying round. At the international level, he participated in both the IIHF World Championship and World Junior Championship events.
