The Detroit Regional Chamber and Detroit Drives Degrees have announced the opening of applications for the second cohort of the Detroit Regional Postsecondary Student Advisory Fellowship (PSAF). This program aims to incorporate students' perspectives into decision-making processes related to education and workforce access in the Detroit region. The fellowship offers a year-long paid experience, with a particular focus this year on automotive, mobility, and emerging technologies sectors through a partnership with MichAuto.

Participants will gain exclusive access to professional development and networking opportunities. These include virtual and in-person events such as networking gatherings, roundtable discussions, and tours of campuses and employers. All activities are organized or sponsored by the Chamber or its member organizations.

By completing the program, fellows are expected to enhance their ability to navigate complex educational and business decision-making processes. They will also build diverse professional networks, deepen their understanding of regional postsecondary and workforce issues, and develop skills necessary for advocating access, equity, and inclusion.

To be eligible for the fellowship, applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a postsecondary institution within the region or have a permanent address in the Detroit area. A commitment to participate throughout the year is required.

Students interested in applying can find more information and submit their applications by Monday, April 14. The review process will start mid-April with decisions communicated by early May.

Chamber member organizations interested in engaging postsecondary student voices or hosting events should contact Amber Greenway Neher at 248.376.5759 or aneher@detroitchamber.com.
