Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, representing Michigan’s 12th district, has recently voiced her opinions on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Known for her advocacy and outspoken nature, Tlaib addressed topics ranging from congressional financial ethics to immigrant rights and the status of Guantánamo Bay.

On January 29, 2025, Tlaib expressed her disapproval regarding financial benefits for Members of Congress linked to war funding. She stated: "It is disgusting that Members of Congress benefit financially when they vote to pass more funding for war. We need to ban Members of Congress and their families from owning stock in war manufacturing. This is corruption. They should not be able to profit off death."

Later that day, Tlaib showed support for immigrant rights by standing with various organizations and individuals advocating for immigrants in Michigan. She tweeted: "Proud to stand in solidarity with Council Member @GabySantiRomero, the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center, Michigan United Action, the African Bureau for Immigration and Social Affairs, and the ACLU of Michigan to defend our immigrant neighbors and inform them of their rights."

In another tweet posted on January 29, 2025, Tlaib addressed concerns about Guantánamo Bay detention camp. She remarked: "This is horrific. We cannot allow this level of dehumanization to become normalized. We need to shut down Guantánamo once and for all."
