MichAuto stakeholders recently reviewed the third MichAuto Economic Contribution report, which examines the impact of Michigan's mobility industry on the state's economy. The study builds upon a 2021 report by Public Sector Consultants and includes an updated definition of the mobility industry's technology cluster and improved methodology for assessing direct contributions and ripple effects.

The report reveals that in 2022, Michigan's mobility industry generated an economic output of $348 billion, accounting for 27% of the state's gross product. The sector supports over 1.2 million jobs, which represents more than 20% of Michigan's private-sector employment. These positions are among the highest paying in the state, with average compensation at $71,547.
