Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib voices concerns over national issues in recent tweets

Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, representing Michigan's 12th district, has recently shared her perspectives on various issues through a series of tweets. Tlaib, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2019 after replacing Brenda Jones, is known for her active engagement on social media platforms to express her political stance and advocate for legislative changes.

On December 9, 2024, Tlaib expressed solidarity with the Syrian people. She posted a statement affirming her support: "My statement standing with the Syrian people: https://t.co/FdXv641Q85".

The following day, December 10, 2024, Tlaib addressed President Biden directly regarding the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). She emphasized its importance in closing the gender pay gap and protecting rights related to abortion and LGBTQ+ communities. Her tweet stated: ".@POTUS has the power to publish the Equal Rights Amendment before he leaves the White House. The ERA would help eliminate the gender pay gap, protect access to abortion and LGBTQ+ rights. It’s passed time for all of us to be written directly into the U.S. Constitution.".

On December 11, 2024, Tlaib criticized Postmaster Louis DeJoy for his performance as head of the U.S. Postal Service (USPS). She highlighted what she perceives as failures in meeting congressional standards and impacting communities nationwide: "The U.S. Postal Service is one of the most critical agencies for our communities. Postmaster DeJoy is failing at his job and is hurting every corner of the country. He doesn't even know the standards set by Congress.".
