Detroit Policy Conference focuses on innovation economy

The 2025 Detroit Policy Conference is set to take place on January 23, focusing on the theme "Driving the Innovation Economy." The event will explore strategies to leverage recent advancements and maintain a competitive edge in the rapidly evolving global technological landscape.

The conference will address how to create an environment conducive to attracting and nurturing startups, high-tech firms, investment, and talent. It aims to highlight pathways for building a vibrant innovation economy.

Keynote speakers include Sandy K. Baruah, President and CEO of the Detroit Regional Chamber; Dug Song, Co-founder and President of the Song Foundation; David Coulter, Executive of Oakland County; and Mike Duggan, Mayor of Detroit.

Additional presentations will feature Power Perspectives from Kevin Johnson, President and CEO of the Detroit Economic Growth Corp. Panels will include business leaders such as Jessica Robinson, Co-founder and Partner at Assembly Ventures. Innovators like Josh Sirefman, CEO of Michigan Central, will also participate in discussions. A reception featuring members of the Detroit City Council is scheduled as part of the event.

The conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at MotorCity Casino Hotel on January 23.
