In October 2024, the Detroit Regional Chamber's TalentEd team and Detroit Promise organized DTE Day, an event aimed at connecting students with career opportunities at DTE. Twenty-nine students attended the open house to learn about potential career paths within the company.

The event highlighted DTE's Student Co-op opportunities in fields such as data analytics, data security, and engineering. These programs offer students challenging assignments, competitive pay, and a chance to work alongside industry leaders. Additionally, the Summer Student program provides full-time temporary employment for college undergraduates and high school seniors preparing for college.

DTE Day proved beneficial for both students and the company. Students gained valuable insights and experiences while DTE engaged with a diverse group of talented individuals from the Detroit Promise. The event also strengthened ties between DTE, the Chamber, and educational institutions while enhancing recruitment efforts through strategic partnerships.

The Chamber encourages other companies to collaborate with its TalentEd team to create similar pathways. "Investing in the next generation allows businesses to enhance their workforce while also contributing to the prosperity of the entire Detroit Region," helping shape "the future of Region’s talent landscape."
