Detroit Regional Chamber, Detroit Promise, and Detroit Reconnect will be hosting events across Southeast Michigan to assist college students in completing their FAFSA applications and submitting Michigan Reconnect scholarship applications. The support will come from FAFSA specialists, Reconnect Navigators, and local colleges.

FAFSA completion rates have significantly declined in Michigan, which is a leading indicator of college enrollment. The State of Michigan has provided funds to encourage local events for FAFSA completion and to raise awareness for Michigan Reconnect, aimed at adults ages 21-24. This program was inspired by the Chamber’s Detroit Reconnect initiative.

The service is available for future and current college students, both traditional and non-traditional. Laptops will be provided, and colleges will be on-site to answer questions.
