On Election Day, the Detroit Regional Chamber President and CEO emphasized the importance of participating in the democratic process. The Chamber highlighted its commitment to a healthy democracy, which it views as essential for economic growth and free enterprise.

As voting concludes and vote counting continues, the Chamber aims to provide information and resources to business leaders and their employees. This effort is intended to contribute to a calm conclusion of the election season.

The Chamber stressed respect for election workers and volunteers, noting they are community members following strict guidelines. "Disruptions and threats to their work must be condemned by all," the statement read.

Acknowledging that counting ballots accurately takes time, especially in high-turnout elections like 2024, the Chamber advised patience. It also noted that elections are decentralized across states with different processes but common security guidelines.

The statement warned against candidates declaring victory prematurely, emphasizing that official results come from state Secretaries of State. It recommended relying on credible news sources such as the Associated Press for predictions.

Addressing misinformation concerns, the Chamber pointed out foreign actors like Russia, Iran, North Korea, and China spreading conspiracies through social media. It urged verification of claims through trusted sources like major newspapers or non-partisan outlets.

Reassuring citizens about election integrity, the Chamber stated: "America’s elections are safe, secure, and accurate." It called on leaders to help maintain public trust in election processes despite potential noise in coming days.
