  • Artists encouraged to submit their murals for the map from anywhere in the city
  • Detroit ACE expands ways for artists and mural hunters to submit photos and bios
The Detroit Mural Map is expanding to include murals in indoor public spaces!

To ensure that all Detroit murals are represented on the map, the City Office of Arts, Culture and Entrepreneurship is calling on all creatives who have done murals inside public spaces to contribute their art to the map.

ACE also has made it easier for metro Detroit residents and photographers to become mural hunters at a time when murals are rising faster than ever.

Artists can continue to submit murals and their bios through the Mural Portal at https://www.canvsart.com/join-detroit or by sending info to detroitace@detroitmi.gov. Mural hunters can send a photo of the mural, the artist’s name and the hunter’s name and contact information to detroitace@detroitmi.gov.

Public indoor murals include the Hubert Massey masterpiece fresco “Detroit: Crossroad of Innovation,” which lives at Huntington Place convention center.

The City launched the Mural Map last October after USA Today ranked Detroit No. 4 in the nation in the creation of beautiful murals. https://youtu.be/7dkCgdXzaEs

Detroit ACE oversees the city’s investment in its creative economy, supports the city’s creative workforce and uses arts and culture as catalysts for neighborhood growth, education, improved entrepreneurship and enjoyment.
