The City of Detroit is in partnership with the Homeowners Property Exemption (HOPE) program to assist with reducing or eliminating your current property taxes for the year.

Remember to bring the required documents - that includes:

• Proof of ownership (Deed, land contract, probate court order, etc)

• A form of government ID with the address and picture of the homeowner and all residents over the age of 18

• Proof of income for ALL adults and minors in the household (e.g -  child support, FIA/DHS, pension, W2’s, pay stubs, etc)

• 2021 or 2022 tax return for all adults in the household who are legally required to file

• Proof of residency for all minors in the household (e.g - report cards, transcripts, etc)
