City of Detroit issued the following announcement on Apr 12.
This month, I am proud to issue a proclamation that declares the month of April as Arab American Heritage Month. I join with the Arab America Foundation and the National Arab American Heritage Month Committee in celebrating the achievements of our Arab American Detroiters. This proclamation reflects the sentiments of all of us here at the City of Detroit to encourage and protect our diversity through policies and programs that promote equity and inclusion.
Arab Americans share a rich culture and values that enrich our community and their many talents have influenced every sector of our society, from government and military to business and entrepreneurship, medicine, law, education, technology, entertainment, and more.
The City of Detroit is fortunate to have such a diverse expression of cultural unity, economic commitment, camaraderie, and service from our Arab American neighbors, and we look forward to a continued relationship in the years to come.
