Ecorse Public Library issued the following announcement on Mar 15.

Margaret Keane is an artist well-known for her depictions of children with large eyes. As a young child, Margaret had her eardrums damaged by an operation, she learned to communicate by watching the eyes of the person speaking to her.

Keanes art has been featured in a number of movies, and even inspired the art style of the Powerpuff Girls! In 2014, director Tim Burton released a biopic about Keane, called "Big Eyes."

Now 94, Keane resides in Napa County, California.
