DETROIT REGIONAL CHAMBER: Detroit Regional Chamber PAC Endorsements For August Primary Election

Elections

Detroit Regional Chamber issued the following announcement.

Detroit Regional Chamber PAC Endorsements For August Primary Election

Today, the Detroit Regional Chamber’s Political Action Committee (PAC) announced endorsements in several key races at local, state, and federal levels. This is the Chamber PAC’s first round of endorsements for the August primary election. A second round of endorsements will be announced following the primary for the November general election.

“As our track record for endorsements will show, the Chamber PAC wants to help Michigan elect the candidates that will be best for the state and its communities,” said Brad Williams, vice president of Government Relations for the Detroit Regional Chamber. “We believe these candidates have the best track record to represent the needs of the state and business community successfully.”

U.S. House Of Representatives

10th District – Doug Slocum (R)

“Macomb County and the 10thth Congressional District are at the center of Michigan’s effort to be a leader in the aerospace and defense industry.  We are fortunate to have Gen. Slocum, who served 35 years in the United States Air force, offer himself for service one more time to help lead our state and nation and play a pivotal role in growing our region. As a commander for the 127th Wing and Selfridge Air National Guard Base, he shares the Chamber’s recognition of the importance of defense assets to the Southeast Michigan economy.”

Oakland County Executive

David Coulter(D)

“County Executive Coulter has done a remarkable job leading Oakland County following the passing of L. Brooks Patterson. He has put together a top-notch team and has continued the long tradition of superior financial management, all while navigating COVID-19 this year.  Democratic primary voters should be confident in supporting Coulter in August,” said Williams.

Mike Kowall (R)

“Sen. Kowall’s legacy of public service and friendship with the Chamber stretches back over 20 years.  He has been a leader in economic development and next-generation mobility.  Republican voters are fortunate to have such a qualified candidate to vote for in the primary,” said Williams.

The Chamber PAC Board is comprised of business leaders representing bipartisan views and reflecting diversity in industry, business size, and location.
