Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, who represents Michigan’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed a range of issues in a series of posts on her social media account, including public health, voting rights, and health care access.

On October 14, 2025, Tlaib shared her support for a local health initiative, stating, "Proud of our team showing up for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Detroit. This walk is a powerful reminder that no one fights alone. We must continue working to raise awareness and end breast cancer once and for all."

The following day, October 15, 2025, she criticized actions by the Supreme Court regarding voting rights: "This illegitimate Supreme Court is gearing up to strike down the pillars of the Voting Rights Act that give Black and brown communities representation in Congress. This is another corrupt GOP power grab to steal congressional seats they know they can't win."

Later on October 15, 2025, Tlaib commented on health care policy, writing, "No one in the richest country in the history of the world should have to beg their government to protect their health care. Health care is a human right—period. It’s time for Republicans to stop playing politics and get back to work to address this health care crisis."

Tlaib has represented Michigan’s 12th district since 2019 after replacing Brenda Jones. She previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2009 to 2014. Born in Detroit in 1976, Tlaib continues to reside in her hometown. She graduated from Wayne State University with a BA in 1998 and earned a JD from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2004.
