Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, who represents Michigan’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently addressed several issues affecting her constituents through a series of posts on social media.

On October 6, 2025, Tlaib highlighted ongoing challenges faced by families in Southeast Michigan due to severe flooding and its aftermath. She stated, "Families in my district are still living with the dangerous impacts of severe flooding in Southeast Michigan, including toxic mold. My Fix Our Flooded Basements Act will expand FEMA coverage to include basement flooding damage and provide funds for mold and mildew remediation."

Later that day, she expressed support for tenants confronting housing insecurity and corporate practices in the rental market. On October 6, 2025, she wrote, "I’m so proud to stand with tenants fighting back against corporate greed. Together, we can cancel rent debt stemming from predatory practices, build democratic alternatives to corporate landlords, and make housing a human right!"

On October 8, 2025, Tlaib paid tribute to a fellow lawmaker following her passing. She posted, "I am deeply saddened by the passing of Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, former chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. Tlaib has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after succeeding Brenda Jones. She previously held office in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2009 to 2014.
