Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, who represents Michigan’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently addressed several issues through her social media posts, including calls for transparency regarding the Epstein files, concerns about rising living costs, and efforts to improve housing and health care access.
On August 20, 2025, Tlaib posted: "We will not accept anything less than the full Epstein files. Survivors of Epstein’s abuse deserve the truth. The Trump Administration must comply with our subpoena and release the full files now."
The following day, on August 21, she highlighted economic challenges facing Americans: "We have an affordability crisis in our country. Life is too expensive, and Republicans are making it worse by fueling corporate greed that's driving up the cost of groceries, health care, and utilities. You deserve better.

Later that same day, Tlaib reported on a meeting with local officials: "Met with Oakland County leaders to tackle housing, health care, and home repair access. We discussed how cross-government partnerships can strengthen public health and ensure affordable, safe homes for families across our district."
Tlaib has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after replacing Brenda Jones. She previously represented her community in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2009 to 2014. Born in Detroit in 1976 and currently residing there at age 46, Tlaib holds a BA from Wayne State University (1998) and a JD from Thomas M. Cooley Law School (2004).
