Detroit City FC prepares for away game against Rhode Island FC

Detroit City Football Club is set to play a midweek match against Rhode Island FC in the Eastern Conference. The game will take place at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Fans can watch the match live on ESPN+ or locally on CW Detroit 50 (WKBD-TV). Michigan residents have the option to stream the match for free via CBSDetroit.com.

In their previous outing, Detroit City secured a 3-0 win over Westchester SC during the final group stage match of the USL Jägermeister Cup. Ates Diouf scored from a penalty just before halftime, followed by second-half goals from Devon Amoo-Mensah and Matt Sheldon.

Goalkeeper Carlos Saldaña recorded his second consecutive clean sheet in that match. Bilal Obeid made his debut for Detroit City, receiving Le Rouge Legacy Number 228.

Following this performance, two Detroit City players were named to the Team of the Round for Round 4 of the USL Jägermeister Cup. Defender Devon Amoo-Mensah notched his first goal of the season, won a penalty kick, and completed 91% of his passes. Midfielder Jeciel Cedeño was also recognized after creating nine chances, completing 80% of his 54 passes, and winning four duels.

Rhode Island FC currently sits in tenth place after a challenging period. In their last game, they lost 2-0 to Riverhounds SC in Pittsburgh. Rhode Island managed only two shots on target as Pittsburgh scored twice within six minutes past goalkeeper Jackson Lee.
