The Detroit Red Wings have announced their schedule for the 2025-26 regular season, marking the team's 100th year in the National Hockey League. The Red Wings will begin their centennial season with a home game against the Montreal Canadiens at Little Caesars Arena on Thursday, October 9 at 7 p.m.
Information about ticket sales for both preseason and regular season games, including special theme nights and promotional giveaways, will be released later. Fans can join the priority presale list to buy tickets ahead of the general public by visiting the 2025-26 Priority Presale page.
There are two available 10-game plans offered by Coca-Cola Zero Sugar: the New Year’s Eve game plan and the Thanksgiving Eve game plan. More details can be found on DetroitRedWings.com/10gameplans.
The season consists of an 82-game schedule with 26 games against Atlantic Division teams, 24 against other Eastern Conference's Metropolitan Division teams, and two games each against all Western Conference opponents.
Of the 41 home games at Little Caesars Arena, 20 will occur on weekends. The team has a busy November with nine out of fourteen games played at home. The first five games of the season are against Atlantic Division rivals, starting with Montreal Canadiens on October 9 followed by Toronto Maple Leafs on October 11.
A five-game road trip out West begins on Tuesday, October 28 with St. Louis Blues and concludes with Vegas Golden Knights on November 4. Upon returning to Detroit in November, they will host teams such as New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks among others.
In December, Detroit embarks on its longest road trip starting in Columbus before heading westward. A New Year’s Eve game is scheduled at Little Caesars Arena against Winnipeg Jets.
January kicks off with back-to-back matches versus Pittsburgh Penguins both away and home. February features a four-game road series beginning with Colorado Avalanche before breaking for the Winter Olympics from February 11 to February 22.
March highlights several Eastern Conference matchups focusing mainly within Atlantic Division teams including Florida Panthers and Boston Bruins among others.
The final home fixture is set for Saturday April 11 hosting New Jersey Devils marking Fan Appreciation Night; followed by concluding away matches starting April13 versus Tampa Bay Lightning culminating their regular-season finale against Florida Panthers on April15.
