Clark Hill Public Strategies, LLC (CHPS), affiliated with the international law firm Clark Hill PLC, has announced the addition of Brad Williams to its team. Williams, a seasoned lobbyist and former Vice President of Political Affairs for the Detroit Regional Chamber, joins CHPS in Washington, D.C., and Lansing, Michigan. His role will involve working with high-level clients to advance their interests at both state and federal levels.
Del Chenault, CHPS Principal, expressed confidence in Williams' capabilities: “As one of the top government affairs professionals in Michigan, and a recognized leader among business groups nationally, Brad is the ideal choice to expand our bipartisan team. His deep relationships and broad experience helping businesses and organizations navigate government adds strong value for our clients. Brad’s addition to the Clark Hill Public Strategies team continues our growth trend as one of the strongest lobbying firms in Michigan and beyond.”
During his time at the Detroit Regional Chamber, Williams led successful advocacy efforts related to projects such as the Gordie Howe International Bridge and Detroit's municipal bankruptcy resolution. He also played a key role in establishing the Detroit Public Schools Community District and developing historic development incentives. His advocacy extended to public transit initiatives, road funding efforts, and business tax reform.
Before joining the Chamber, Williams worked within the Michigan Legislature and Department of Transportation. In 2018, he temporarily left his position at the Chamber to serve as a senior advisor during Governor-Elect Gretchen Whitmer's transition.
Williams is an alumnus of Calvin College and has been recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business as one of "50 Names to Know in Lobbying."
Commenting on his new role at CHPS, Williams stated: “Clark Hill Public Strategies already has an outstanding team, so I look forward to collaborating with them. Together, we will help clients navigate government in a fast-changing policy environment.” He emphasized that CHPS’ relationship with Clark Hill would provide additional value for his clients due to its extensive presence across the U.S.
Clark Hill Public Strategies provides guidance on navigating complex regulatory and legislative environments from local state houses to national institutions like the White House.
