Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, who represents Michigan's 12th district in the U.S. Congress, has been vocal on social media about issues ranging from early childhood education to national security and immigration policies. Her recent tweets highlight her advocacy for community programs and her concerns over governmental actions.

On June 7, 2025, Tlaib emphasized the importance of Head Start programs, stating that they are essential for families. She remarked that this "60-year-old program gives our children a fair shot at development and the ability to thrive." The tweet underscores her support for educational initiatives aimed at young children. "Head Start programs are anchors for our families."

Two days later, on June 9, 2025, Tlaib expressed concern over the use of military force against protesters in the United States. She described it as evidence of "our country's descent into fascism," labeling it an abuse of power that could destabilize communities. In her post, she affirmed solidarity with those defending immigrant rights and fundamental freedoms. "Sending in the military to brutalize U.S. protesters is evidence of our country's descent into fascism."

In another tweet on June 9, Tlaib addressed ongoing issues with ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), supporting advocates' warnings about its illegal actions that disrupt families and compromise safety. She agreed with calls to abolish ICE to ensure rights protection, noting its establishment only occurred in 2003. "Advocates have been warning us for years about ICE's illegal actions."

Rashida Tlaib has served in Congress since replacing Brenda Jones in 2019 and previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2009 to 2014.
