Detroit City Football Club has announced new roster additions for the upcoming 2025 USL W League season. The club welcomes forward Camryn Evans, a former Michigan State University player, and midfielder Zoe Greenhalge, who played in the 2024-2025 MASL W League season and previously represented Purdue University Fort Wayne.
Evans is familiar to followers of collegiate soccer in Michigan. She played for the Michigan State Spartans from 2018 to 2022, appearing in 89 matches and starting 84. Her college career included scoring seven goals as a freshman and eight goals in her graduate season. Evans also scored Lansing United FC’s only goal against Detroit City FC during the 2021 UWS season.
Greenhalge contributed significantly to her team's success in the MASL W League National final last season, scoring five goals and assisting two in four matches. A South Lyon native, she played six seasons at Purdue University Fort Wayne, where she participated in 94 matches and started 77.
Detroit City FC is preparing for its fourth USL W League season under head coach David Dwaihy. The club emphasizes continuity by retaining a large group of players from last year’s squad. "We are blessed to have such a large group of returning players this summer," said Dwaihy. He highlighted their talent both on and off the field.
Returning players include those with professional experience as well as young talents eager to develop their skills. This mix aims to promote growth through mentorship and team unity developed over past seasons.
The full list of returning players includes Kayla Addison from Grand Valley State University, Elisa Baeron from Bowling Green, Amanda Britain from Central Michigan University, among others. These athletes bring experience from various leagues including MASL W and Premier Arena Soccer League.
Last year, Detroit City FC finished with a record of 10-2-0 under then-second-year coach Dave Dwaihy. The team won the Great Lakes Division and made it to their first-ever playoff berth before losing to Colorado Storm in the National Semifinal.
As preparations continue for the upcoming season opener against AFC Ann Arbor on May 17 at Pioneer High School, more announcements regarding new signings and coaching staff updates are expected soon.
