The Detroit Lions have announced the signing of linebacker Grant Stuard as an unrestricted free agent. The terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Stuard joins the Lions after playing three seasons with the Indianapolis Colts from 2022 to 2024. During the 2024 season, he participated in 17 games, starting in five of them. He accumulated a total of 37 tackles, including 23 solo tackles and two tackles for loss. Additionally, Stuard recorded three special teams tackles, with two being solo efforts.

Stuard was initially drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft, coming out of Houston. Throughout his career spanning 66 games, he has achieved 43 tackles, with 26 being solo efforts, along with two tackles for loss, one quarterback hit, and one forced fumble. On special teams, he has contributed with 30 tackles and a blocked punt returned for a touchdown.
