Detroit City FC continued their winning streak with a 2-1 victory over Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday. The match, held at Weidner Field, marked the home opener for the defending USL Championship champions.

After a goalless first half, Colorado Springs took the lead in the 48th minute when Juan Tejada scored following a rebound. Detroit City responded with tactical changes, bringing on Morey Doner and Connor Rutz in the 60th minute. Shortly after, Darren Smith equalized in the 62nd minute with his first goal for Detroit City.

Further substitutions saw Sebastián Guenzatti and Jordan Adebayo-Smith enter the field. Guenzatti scored the decisive goal in the 82nd minute after Jay Chapman set up Alex Villanueva to cross into the box. The ball deflected off goalkeeper Christian Herrera into the net.

Detroit City's defense held firm during stoppage time, ensuring their second consecutive comeback win at Weidner Field against Colorado Springs. They will next face Birmingham Legion FC at Keyworth Stadium on March 22.
