Detroit City FC is set to face the reigning USL Championship winners, Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, in an away match this Saturday. The game will take place at Weidner Field with a kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. Fans can watch the live stream on ESPN+ or catch the local broadcast on CW Detroit 50 (WKBD-TV). Michigan residents have free streaming access via CBSDetroit.com, and SiriusXM FC channel 157 will also carry the live broadcast.

Le Rouge approaches this encounter following a 2-0 victory against Miami FC last Saturday. Michael Bryant scored in the 32nd minute, followed by Connor Rutz's goal in the 87th minute, securing Detroit's first win of the season. Goalkeeper Carlos Saldaña achieved his first clean sheet of the year and sixth overall for Detroit.

Michael Bryant was recognized for his performance in Miami by being named to the USL Championship Team of the Week. His contributions included scoring the decisive goal, winning 11 duels, completing five long passes, and maintaining a pass completion rate of 91%.

Seven players made their debut for DCFC in Miami and received legacy numbers: Jay Chapman (218), Marcello Polisi (219), Darren Smith (220), Shane Wiedt (221), Morey Doner (222), Sebastián Guenzatti (223), and Ates Diouf (224).

Colorado Springs Switchbacks began their title defense with a 2-2 draw against El Paso Locomotive FC. Marco Micaletto converted an early penalty to give Switchbacks an initial lead before El Paso equalized late in the first half. Jonas Fjeldberg restored Colorado Springs' lead in the second half, but they conceded again just before full-time.

Switchbacks retain several key players from their championship-winning squad, including goalkeeper Christian Herrera and captain Matt Mahoney. Both played every minute of last season's games under head coach James Chambers.

The two teams met only once last season during match week one when Detroit secured a narrow 2-1 victory with Connor Rutz scoring late to clinch three points.

Detroit City will return home next Saturday to host Birmingham Legion FC at Keyworth Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Tickets are available at www.detcityfc.com/tickets.
