Tlaib criticized the lack of protections for Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid within the bill, concluding with her decision: "I voted NO."

She led an initiative with 40 colleagues urging the Department of Agriculture to restore funding for Urban and Community Forestry Grants. In her tweet she emphasized that "Cutting off grants for neighborhood green spaces that improve our air quality is reckless."
