Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 12th district since 2019, recently expressed her views on various issues through a series of tweets. These tweets address topics ranging from defense spending to humanitarian concerns and social welfare programs.

On December 11, 2024, Congresswoman Tlaib raised concerns about an impending congressional vote. She stated, "Congress is about to vote to send nearly $1,000,000,000,000 for weapons and war when the Pentagon just failed its 7th audit in a row." Tlaib further highlighted the potential conflict of interest by mentioning that many of her colleagues own stock in defense contractors.

Later on the same day, she addressed another pressing issue by tweeting about a humanitarian crisis. She remarked that "A horrific genocide is happening right now and it should be documented in the Congressional Record." In this tweet, she referred to a report submitted by Amnesty International which concluded that the Israeli government is committing genocide against Palestinians.

On December 12, 2024, Congresswoman Tlaib shifted focus to domestic social issues. She tweeted her commitment towards addressing child hunger by stating: "We always have money for war, but not to feed hungry families." Emphasizing the importance of expanding programs like SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), she advocated for ensuring every child has access to nutritious meals.
