Detroit City FC will host North Carolina FC this Saturday in a match that could impact the Eastern Conference playoff race. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at Keyworth Stadium and will be available for streaming on ESPN+, with Spanish-language coverage on TUDN, and local broadcast on CW Detroit 50 (WKBD-TV). Michigan residents can also stream the match for free via CBSDetroit.com.

Detroit City enters the contest after a narrow 1-0 loss to Louisville City FC last weekend. Louisville scored early in the sixth minute, and despite several chances, Detroit was unable to equalize due to strong defensive play from Louisville.

With only four matches left in the USL Championship season, Detroit City is currently seventh in the standings with 32 points. They are tied with Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC but hold the higher position based on tiebreakers. Rhode Island FC sits just behind them in ninth place with 31 points and has not lost in their last three matches.

North Carolina FC arrives following a 1-1 draw against Birmingham Legion earlier this week. Jahlane Forbes scored first for North Carolina in the 32nd minute, but Birmingham leveled the score during stoppage time of the second half.

After this result, North Carolina remains third in the conference standings with four games remaining and a total of 41 points. While they cannot overtake Charleston Battery for second place, they need to maintain their lead over Loudoun United (39 points) and Hartford Athletic (38 points) as both teams are close behind.

"There’s a lot riding on these final matches," said an official from Detroit City FC. "Every point matters as we push toward securing our spot in the playoffs."
