Lucas Raymond aims to extend his goal-scoring streak to five games as the Detroit Red Wings prepare to face the New Jersey Devils at Little Caesars Arena on Friday afternoon. The match between Detroit, with a record of 10-10-2 and 22 points, and New Jersey, holding a 15-8-2 record with 32 points, is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. It will be broadcast on FanDuel Sports Network Detroit and the Red Wings Radio Network.

In their previous encounter this season, the Red Wings secured a victory over the Devils with a score of 5-3 on October 24 at Little Caesars Arena. Detroit enters this game following a successful three-game homestand capped by a 2-1 overtime win against the Calgary Flames on Wednesday. Alex DeBrincat opened the scoring with a power-play goal, while Raymond scored the decisive goal in overtime.

Detroit head coach Derek Lalonde commented on Wednesday's performance, saying, “I really wanted the shutout [on Wednesday], just the way we played in our little stretch of hockey lately...But what a complete game from start to finish.” Goalie Cam Talbot praised the team's defensive zone efforts, stating that their "D-zone has been unbelievable as of late."

The Red Wings have allowed two goals or fewer in each of their last four games and hold a strong record of 9-1-0 when conceding no more than two goals per game this season. Talbot noted improvements in penalty killing could further reduce goals against.

Talbot's contributions have been significant this season, achieving a 6-4-2 record with a 2.47 goals-against average and .923 save percentage in his first 13 games for Detroit. Lalonde remarked on Talbot’s impact: “He’s been huge for us...He’s brought a lot to our room too.”

New Jersey stands second in the Metropolitan Division but suffered a setback with a recent loss to St. Louis Blues where they failed to score against Jordan Binnington. Jesper Bratt leads New Jersey's scoring efforts followed by Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier.

Lalonde concluded optimistically about maintaining momentum after Thanksgiving: “Just a really good win [on Wednesday]...then try to keep it going on Friday.”
