The Detroit Red Wings are set to host the Calgary Flames in their annual Thanksgiving Eve game at Little Caesars Arena. The matchup is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., with coverage available on FanDuel Sports Network Detroit Extra and the Red Wings Radio Network.

Detroit's head coach, Derek Lalonde, expressed optimism about the game, stating, "Great opportunity tonight. Hope to build off a good win the other night." The Red Wings recently secured a comeback victory against the New York Islanders, winning 4-2 after scoring three goals in the final minutes of regulation.

Team captain Dylan Larkin emphasized maintaining a high level of competition. Reflecting on their recent performance against Boston, Larkin said, "They came out with fire after what they’ve been through; they fired their coach. They came out and played hard and played well defensively. So did we."

In terms of lineup changes, Cam Talbot will start as goalie with Ville Husso backing him up due to Alex Lyon's minor injury during practice. Patrick Kane will miss his second consecutive game but is considered day-to-day according to Lalonde.

The Calgary Flames come into this game ranked second in the Western Conference’s Pacific Division. Their four-game winning streak ended with a loss to Ottawa Senators earlier this week. Rasmus Andersson leads Calgary's scoring efforts this season.

Lalonde acknowledged the challenge posed by Calgary, saying, "We’ll have our hands full tonight... Unbelievable balance throughout their lineup."
