Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, who represents Michigan’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress, has been vocal about issues concerning environmental protection and foreign policy. Her recent social media posts highlight her engagement with advocacy groups and critique of U.S. foreign policy decisions.

On November 19, 2024, Tlaib tweeted about her meeting with the Healing Our Waters Coalition. She expressed pride in collaborating with advocates focused on water preservation and protection against threats such as pollution and privatization. "I met with the Healing Our Waters Coalition to discuss ensuring clean, accessible water for all. I’m proud to stand with advocates dedicated to preserving our water for future generations and defending it against pollution, privatization, and neglect."

The following day, November 20, 2024, Tlaib addressed U.S. arms sales to Israel in a tweet directed at President Biden. She accused the administration of not enforcing U.S. laws that prohibit sending weapons to countries involved in acts she described as genocide in Gaza. She urged Senators to vote against arms sales to Israel, highlighting her stance on international humanitarian law compliance. ".@POTUS has refused to enforce US law and stop sending weapons to the Israeli government as they commit genocide in Gaza and use starvation as a weapon of war."

In another post on the same day, Tlaib referenced Section 620I of the Foreign Assistance Act. She emphasized that this legislation prohibits providing weapons to any country that restricts U.S. humanitarian assistance delivery. "Section 620I of the Foreign Assistance Act is very clear: The US cannot provide weapons to any country that 'prohibits or otherwise restricts, directly or indirectly, the transport or delivery of United States humanitarian assistance.'"
