The Detroit Red Wings will honor Pavel Datsyuk, a newly inducted member of the Hockey Hall of Fame and former team player, on Thursday, November 21. The celebration will take place at Little Caesars Arena before the game against the New York Islanders.
Fans attending the event can purchase tickets to join in commemorating Datsyuk's successful NHL career. The first 5,000 attendees will receive a commemorative coin featuring Datsyuk, courtesy of Nexstar Digital.
Datsyuk expressed his gratitude by stating, "I am deeply honored to be recognized by the Red Wings and the incredible fans of Detroit. This city has always been like a second home to me, and the love and support I’ve felt here is something I will carry with me forever."
The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start time, with fans encouraged to arrive early for various activities. A ceremonial puck drop by Datsyuk will occur before the game begins. Fans are advised to be seated by 6:40 p.m.
Opportunities for photographs include displays of notable trophies such as the Stanley Cup, Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, and Frank J. Selke Trophy. There will also be an exhibition showcasing items from Datsyuk's career including his rookie season helmet and other game-used equipment.
Pavel Datsyuk played exclusively for the Red Wings during his 14-year NHL tenure from 2001 to 2016. His career achievements include two Stanley Cup victories in 2002 and 2008 along with several individual awards like four consecutive Lady Byng Trophies and three Selke Trophies. He scored a total of 918 points over his regular-season games.
