The Detroit Red Wings are set to face the Winnipeg Jets at Little Caesars Arena on Wednesday night. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., with coverage available on FanDuel Sports Network Detroit and the Red Wings Radio Network.

The Red Wings are coming off a narrow 3-2 overtime loss against the Edmonton Oilers. Andrew Copp contributed a goal and an assist, while Patrick Kane provided two assists in that game. Michael Rasmussen highlighted their strong performance in the first period against Edmonton and emphasized maintaining that level of play.

In other news, Detroit traded Olli Maatta to Utah Hockey Club for a third-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. Head coach Derek Lalonde acknowledged Maatta's contributions but noted roster management challenges with eight defensemen available.

Vladimir Tarasenko missed Wednesday's morning skate due to illness and remains questionable for the game against Winnipeg. Lalonde described it as "a nice flu bug" affecting several players recently.

The Jets saw their franchise-best eight-game winning streak end with a loss to Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday. Kyle Connor led Winnipeg with four points in that game and tops their scoring chart this season.

Detroit aims to contain Winnipeg’s power play, which has been highly effective at 44.4 percent success rate this season. Rasmussen stressed discipline as key to improving their penalty kill performance.
