Bank of America has partnered with SER Metro-Detroit to launch a mobile financial center at the Samaritan Center in Detroit. The initiative, running from September 10 to 13, aims to provide accessible banking services, financial wellness education, credit counseling, personalized meetings with specialists, and insights into digital banking tools.

The mobile financial center offers a range of services similar to those available at permanent branches. These include account setup assistance, free financial education, and personalized advice from specialists and credit counselors. Experts will help individuals manage their finances effectively and guide business owners on enhancing their financial acumen.

Star Crawford, Market Executive for Bank of America Detroit, emphasized the mission to grow and protect the financial well-being of clients and the Detroit community. “Through our community-centered approach, we focus on empowering our neighbors wherever they are on their financial journey by building trust, confidence, and financial know-how. These mobile banking centers, operated in partnership with our essential nonprofit partners, including SER Metro-Detroit, are an important part of that mission,” Crawford said.

Services offered at the mobile financial center include:

- Financial education classes and workshops covering budgeting, saving, building credit, homebuying, and starting a business.

- Financial well-being counselors providing sessions on money management and credit.

- On-site financial specialists offering tailored solutions.

- A digital expo highlighting Bank of America's mobile and online banking capabilities.

Over the last decade, Bank of America has allocated $45.3 million in grants to various non-profit organizations in Michigan. These grants have supported economic development, community strengthening, employment promotion, and educational initiatives across the state.

Eva Garza Dewaelsche, President and CEO of SER Metro-Detroit emphasized their common goal with Bank of America in offering robust workforce opportunities for Detroit residents. “Our resource fair will showcase the city resources that can help residents achieve their goals... Both events will be open to the entire community,” Dewaelsche said.

The mobile financial center will be at Samaritan Center from September 10 to 11 (2 p.m. - 6 p.m.) and September 12 to 13 (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.). Additionally, SER Metro-Detroit will offer a resource fair on September 10 (3 p.m. - 6 p.m.) and a career fair on September 12 (11 a.m. - 2 p.m.).
