Detroit City FC's five-match unbeaten streak ended on Saturday night with a 1-0 loss to FC Tulsa at Keyworth Stadium. The decisive goal was scored by Aaron Bibout in the 14th minute off a corner kick.

Head Coach Danny Dichio opted for a heavily rotated squad following Wednesday’s 3-2 victory against Tampa Bay Rowdies. Only Stephen Carroll, Matt Sheldon, Maxi Rodriguez, and Connor Rutz remained from the previous lineup.

Detroit began aggressively, earning a free kick just four minutes into the game. Despite delivering the ball into the six-yard box, they failed to capitalize on the opportunity.

Goalkeeper Nate Steinwascher returned to action and made a diving save in the 13th minute, pushing the ball out for a corner. On that corner, Bibout scored to give Tulsa an early lead.

The match became more physical as Tulsa received two yellow cards in quick succession—Harvey St Clair in the 22nd minute and Boubacar Diallo in the 27th.

Connor Rutz had a chance to equalize in the 31st minute but his header went wide. Another opportunity came in the 38th minute when Stephen Carroll's header also missed its mark.

At halftime, Detroit City struggled offensively. Dichio made changes by bringing on Ben Morris and Devon Amoo-Mensah for Victor Bezerra and Stephen Carroll respectively.

In the second half, Maxi Rodriguez missed another chance set up by Rutz in the 52nd minute. Tulsa’s Bibout received a yellow card two minutes later.

Harvey St Clair was sent off with his second yellow card after fouling Amoo-Mensah in the 66th minute, leaving Tulsa down a man for the remainder of the match.

Detroit City made further substitutions: Yazeed Matthews replaced Jeciel Cedeño and Laurent Kissiedou debuted for Matt Sheldon both in the 73rd minute. James Murphy substituted Ryan Williams in the 85th minute.

Despite multiple opportunities and spending most of stoppage time attacking, Detroit could not find an equalizer. A shot by Maxi Rodriguez forced an impressive save from Tulsa’s keeper during stoppage time.

FC Tulsa secured all three points while Detroit City will play three of their next four games at home starting next Saturday against Hartford Athletic. Tickets are available at www.detcityfc.com/tickets.
