Late July 2024, the Michigan Supreme Court issued a ruling that will bring about significant changes for businesses, including adjustments to paid sick leave benefits, an increase in minimum wage, and the phase-out of the tipped wage credit.

In order to ensure that the Michigan Earned Sick Time Act’s (ESTA) requirements are workable, the Detroit Regional Chamber and a coalition of more than 40 organizations are urging lawmakers to come together to pass practical and commonsense legislation to lessen the harm of the Supreme Court’s decision on paid leave.

The Detroit Regional Chamber is committed to providing its members with the most updated information and resources on the ruling. "Have questions? Submit them here," reads a statement from the Chamber's website.
