Adopt-A-Flowerbed Program
GUIDELINES
Flowerbed Assignment
Residents/businesses wishing to adopt a flowerbed should contact the Beautification Commission to choose a flowerbed site open for adoption. Flowerbeds are adopted on an annual basis.
Expectations
Once residents/businesses have committed to adopt a flowerbed, they will be responsible for:
Preparing soil for planting
Purchasing and planting flowers/plants
Flowers/plants should grow no higher than 24 inches
Potted flowers/plants to be used only in conjunction with planted
flowers/plants
Fertilizing and weeding
Watering - at least once a week, depending on rainfall
Cleaning out flowerbeds and cutting back perennials in the fall
Maintenance and upkeep of the physical landscaping concrete blocks
Flowerbeds to be planted no later than: June 15th
Flowerbeds to be cleaned out no later than: November 15th
AMERICAN FLAGS ONLY – maximum size 12 in. H x 18 in. W
ARTIFICIAL FLOWERS/PLANTS ARE NOT PERMITTED
In the event a resident/business becomes unable to care for a flowerbed, please contact the Beautification Commission so that the flowerbed can be reopen for adoption.
