City of Grosse Pointe Park issued the following announcement on Oct 15.
Replacement Ballot Update:
Grosse Pointe Park was required by law to provide replacement ballots with the correct incumbent information for the Municipal Court race. Grosse Pointe Park is mailing the replacement ballots to residents on Friday, October 15, 2021.
If a voter decides to vote the replacement ballot and that voter already submitted an original ballot, the replacement ballot will be the ballot counted. If a voter does not submit a replacement ballot but has submitted an original ballot, the original ballot will be the ballot counted for that voter. Only one ballot/vote per voter will count.
All original ballots received at the Clerk’s office will be designated “Original.” All replacement ballots will be designated “Replacement” on the inner envelope of the replacement ballot. All ballots will be maintained separately by designation on the envelope.
The clerk will not count original ballots until after the polls close to ensure that a replacement ballot was not submitted.
