County of Wayne issued the following announcement on Aug 16.
Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Peter Michael Oleary*, 43, (DOB: 05/14/1977), of Dearborn Heights, in connection with stealing a marked police vehicle.
On August 13, 2021, at approximately 1:48 a.m., Dearborn police officers were dispatched to a bar in the 22140 block of Outer Drive in Dearborn for a reported fight in the parking lot. While investigating the incident, it is alleged that the defendant stole a marked patrol vehicle. The police pursued the defendant in a brief chase before apprehending him at a local hospital.
Peter Michael Oleary has been charged with one count of Fleeing and Eluding, one count of Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property, one count of Unlawfully Driving Away an Automobile, and one count of Reckless Driving.**
He was arraigned this morning in 19th District Court and given a $100,000 cash/surety bond. His Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for August 27, 2021 in 19th District Court before Judge Gene Hunt. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Dearborn Police Department.
*The defendant's name is spelled Oleary on the Dearborn DP police reports.
