SBA Offers Disaster Assistance | Severe Storms, Flooding, and Tornadoes from June 25 - 26, 2021

City of Melvindale issued the following announcement on July 22.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is offering affordable, low-interest, long-term disaster loans following the announcement of a Presidential disaster declaration due to severe storms, flooding, and tornadoes from June 25 - 26, 2021. In essence, Businesses of all sizes, Private Non-Profit organizations, Homeowners and Renters in the affected areas* and with physical or economic damages stemming from this disaster, are encouraged to apply as they may be eligible for federal disaster assistance from the SBA.

 * This disaster declaration covers Washtenaw and Wayne counties in Michigan, which are eligible for both Physical and Economic Injury Disaster Loans from the SBA. Small businesses and most private nonprofit organizations in the following adjacent Michigan counties are eligible to apply only for SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans: Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, and Oakland. IMPORTANT: The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is Sept. 13, 2021. The deadline to return economic injury applications is April 15, 2022.
