Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, who represents Michigan’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on her official social media account addressing national political leadership, veterans' welfare, and allegations concerning former President Donald Trump.
On November 10, 2025, Tlaib criticized Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer's leadership and called for his resignation. In her post she wrote: "Sen. Schumer has failed to meet this moment and is out of touch with the American people. The Democratic Party needs leaders who fight and deliver for working people. Schumer should step down."
The following day, November 11, which marked Veterans Day in the United States, Tlaib addressed her constituents in Michigan’s 12th district by posting: "Happy Veterans Day, #12thDistrictStrong. Our veterans deserve more than words. Every veteran deserves housing, access to quality health care, mental health support, and a community that truly has their back when they return home."
On November 12, Tlaib commented on reports regarding Jeffrey Epstein and former President Donald Trump by posting: '"Of course he knew about the girls." Epstein wrote that Trump spent hours at his house with one of his victims. What else is the president hiding? Release the files now!'
Tlaib has represented Michigan’s 12th congressional district since 2019 after replacing Brenda Jones. She previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2009 to 2014. Born in Detroit in 1976, she continues to reside in her hometown and holds degrees from Wayne State University (BA) and Thomas M. Cooley Law School (JD).
