The Detroit Red Wings have announced the roster for their 2025 Development Camp, scheduled to take place from June 30 to July 3 at the BELFOR Training Center within Little Caesars Arena. The roster includes 16 forwards, nine defensemen, and six goaltenders.
Seven of the eight players selected by the Red Wings during the 2025 NHL Entry Draft will participate in the camp. These players are forwards Carter Bear, Eddie Genborg, Grayden Robertson-Palmer, Brent Solomon, Michal Svrcek; defenseman Will Murphy; and goaltender Michal Pradel. Additionally, selections from previous drafts in 2024, 2023, and 2022 will also attend.
Carter Bear, chosen as the Red Wings' first-round pick in the 2025 draft (13th overall), is among those attending. He played for the Western Hockey League’s Everett Silvertips last season. Eddie Genborg, a second-round pick (44th overall), spent part of his last season with Linköping HC's under-20 team in Sweden.
Michael Brandsegg-Nygård, Detroit's first-round selection from the 2024 NHL Entry Draft (15th overall), is expected to return to Development Camp. Brandsegg-Nygård began his last season with Skellefteå AIK and later joined the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Other notable attendees include Max Plante (47th overall in 2024) from University of Minnesota-Duluth; Trey Augustine (41st overall in 2023) from Michigan State University; Jesse Kiiskinen acquired via trade with Nashville Predators; and Michal Postava who recently signed a contract with Detroit after helping HC Kometa Brno win a Czech Extraliga title.
The camp activities are divided into two teams – Team Howe and Team Lindsay – featuring on-ice instruction and skill development led by Red Wings player development staff. Participants will engage in NHL-level off-ice workouts and receive feedback from coaches and management.
A four-on-four game between Team Howe and Team Lindsay will be streamed live on July 3 at DetroitRedWings.com. The stream will include interviews with prospects and members of the front office staff hosted by Ken Kal and Bob Kaser. More coverage can be found at www.DetroitRedWings.com/Prospects.
