Detroit City Football Club is set to resume its USL Jägermeister Cup campaign this Saturday with an away match against Portland Hearts of Pine, a USL League One team. The game will take place at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland, Maine, with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. Fans can watch the live stream on ESPN+ or tune in locally on CW Detroit 50 (WKBD-TV). Michigan residents have the option to stream the match for free via CBSDetroit.com.

Detroit City FC enters this fixture following a 3-1 loss to Charleston Battery. Despite taking an early lead with Jay Chapman's goal in the second minute, Detroit was unable to maintain momentum. Cal Jennings scored twice for Charleston in the first half, and Juan Torres added another goal in the 57th minute to secure victory for the visitors.

In their previous Jägermeister Cup encounter, Detroit City secured a narrow 1-0 win over Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC. Darren Smith's decisive header from a Ben Morris cross during stoppage time clinched three points for Le Rouge in their group stage opener.

Portland Hearts of Pine are currently enjoying a four-match unbeaten streak in league play during their inaugural season. They are positioned 11th in USL League One standings with one win, five draws, and one loss. Last weekend, they managed a 1-1 draw against Forward Madison FC after equalizing through Nathan Messer's long-range effort.

Portland's debut match in the Jägermeister Cup resulted in a 2-0 defeat by Hartford Athletic. Jack Panayotou scored both goals for Hartford before receiving a red card in the 72nd minute.
