Detroit City FC's USL W League team is preparing for its 2025 home opener on Saturday, facing Union FC Macomb at Keyworth Stadium. The match will start at 7 p.m. and can be streamed for free on CBSDetroit.com and SportsEngine Play.

This game follows a doubleheader event at the stadium, with the men's USL Championship team playing against Charleston Battery FC at 4 p.m.

Since establishing a women's team in 2020, Detroit City FC has achieved a record of 3-2-0 in their first home matches of the season. Their most recent victory was against Flint City AFC, winning 2-1 on May 18, 2024.

In their opening match of the 2025 USL W League season, Detroit City FC lost 2-1 away to AFC Ann Arbor. After leading post-halftime through a play by Abby Werthman and Kayla Addison, they conceded two goals quickly to lose the match. This marked their first regular-season defeat since June 17, 2023, when they lost to Flint City AFC.

Union FC Macomb is new to the USL W League this year. They began playing in USL League Two last year and finished seventh in the Great Lakes Division. This season, Union FC Macomb started with a loss to AFC Ann Arbor but won against Kalamazoo FC shortly after.
