The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) has announced an open call for entries for the fourth annual Wayne County High School Art Exhibition. High school students from Wayne County are encouraged to submit their creative and impactful artwork by March 23. The exhibition will be displayed at the DIA from June 20 through July 20.

“We take pride in uplifting and inspiring the next generation of artists at the museum,” stated Salvador Salort-Pons, Director of DIA. “The Detroit Institute of Arts is honored to continue the tradition of highlighting the talent of Wayne County’s students with this exhibition.”

The event celebrates artworks from students in grades 9-12 across Wayne County, showcasing a variety of mediums such as photography, painting, textiles, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, and more. An extension will also be hosted at the Guardian Building.

Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans expressed his support: “The Wayne County High School Art Exhibition is a shining example of how creativity and art can unite communities while allowing us to recognize these young people for their brilliance. I am always so moved by the depth of talent displayed each year, and I encourage all of Wayne County’s high school artists to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to share their voices and stories through art. Students, submit your work for consideration; it could be the inspiration that someone else needs.”

This exhibition is supported by the Tri-County millage, ensuring free general admission to residents of Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties.
