The following day, on February 7, 2025, Tlaib voiced her apprehensions about Elon Musk's influence on democracy. She stated that "Elon Musk, an unelected billionaire worth $420 billion, is dismantling our democracy." Tlaib highlighted the protection he receives from the GOP and labeled the situation as a "constitutional crisis."

She expressed dismay over legislative decisions affecting water quality by stating that "my colleagues voted to allow toxic fracking chemicals to pollute our water and harm our communities."
